I’m always looking for ways to make my Juices more nutritious.
With produce prices so high in Tokyo, I’m always looking to tweak my Juicing recipes for taste, nutrition and affordability.
Fortunately, one of the more reasonably priced items on my grocery list is Ginger.
So when I found out what the benefits of Ginger were, I was pretty excited to start adding them to my Juices.
What is Ginger good for?
Anti-Nausea
Does anyone remember being given Ginger Ale for an upset stomach?
Anti-Inflammatory
Raised Immunity
By simply adding Ginger to your Juices, you’re strengthening your immune system. This will in turn help you fight off those nagging winter colds or illnesses that can plague us throughout the year.
Improved Digestion
An easy way to incorporate Ginger into your diet is through Juicing.
Juicing Ginger is easy and adds a unique flavor to your Juices while strengthening your Immune System
Juicing with Ginger
“For the most benefit you should use fresh ginger which is widely available. Powdered ginger is still very beneficial though whenever fresh ginger is unavailable. For most people a piece of ginger root about 1/2-1 inch will be adequate but some people (me included) may like more than this.”
Juicing Quick Tip:
Juice small amounts of Ginger at first to see how you like it. You can always add more. This holds true for all your Juicing Recipes. Try experimenting with several combinations of fruits and veggies until you find Juicer Recipes that are both tasty and nutritious.
“The strength of ginger can vary depending on age and variety. Younger ginger tends to be less spicy but is harder to find. The more common mature ginger tends to be spicier.
It’s a good idea to wash your ginger. If it’s non organic or shriveled then it’s also a good idea to peel it before juicing.
One trick to juicing ginger is to juice it first and then juice other water rich ingredients after. This will help wash out as much of the ginger juice as possible.
Ginger works well when combined with lime, lemon, apple, pear, carrot, spinach, fennel, celery and parsley.”
