Choosing a Juicer is similar to choosing any other kitchen appliance, however, there are a handful of tips that are very useful when purchasing a new Juicer. An important note to remember is that the best Juicer on the market might not be the best Juicer for you.

Follow the steps below to determine which Juicers are worth consideration and you’ll be Juicing in no time.

Masticating Juicer Disadvantages:

Important Note: If you are Juicing for Weight Loss or Intending to Juice primarily Green Leafy Vegetables then a Masticating Juicer may prove to be the best choice.

Consider the following when deciding “What is the Best Juicer”:

  • Space – Does your kitchen or counter space have adequate room for this Juicer?
  • Noise – Will a noisy Juicer be a major Issue? Masticating Juicers are quieter on average.
  • Power – Are you Juicing for many people? Will your Juicer be able to handle the amount of Juicing you’ll be doing?
  • Ease of use – Too many features, speeds, or difficult assembly may make Juicing a burden. Make sure to purchase a Juicer that assembles and disassembles easily.
  • Speed of blade rotation – The higher the speed the more oxidation the fruit and vegetables are subjected to. This will reduce the nutrient value of the Juice. A Masticating Juicer grinds the fruits and vegetables at a slower speed, therefore preserving more of the nutrients.
  • Budget – Only you can answer this question. If possible I would only look at Juicers primarily in the $150 to $300 range. You can spend more but I wouldn’t suggest spending much less.

You know you need to buy Fruits and Veggies but which ones?

When Should I drink my Juice?

These are great questions and this is why I chose to discuss Juice Diet Plans before Juicing Recipes.

After we determine which Juice Diet Plan is right for you we can determine which fruits and veggies to purchase as well as the amounts.

Ask yourself these questions:

What are your Goals?

Are you looking to:

Lose Body Fat?


Increase Energy Levels?


Strengthen your Immune System?


Reduce the amount of Medication you are on?


Reverse the signs of Aging?

Yes…Juicing can be the answer to those questions and help you achieve your Health Goals.

How can I begin Juicing?

The two most common methods of Juicing are:

Method 1

Juice Fasting

A Juice Fast is when you choose to drink only fruit and vegetable Juice for a pre-determined amount of time.

Juice Fasts are usually 1-3 days in length and can offer many benefits.

It’s not unusual to Juice Fast for longer periods of time, however, most people can benefit from shorter or occasional Fasts of 1 – 3 days.

Alternative Juice Fast Ideas:

Juice Fast throughout the day and eat a nutritious meal for Dinner

An example of this would be “The Warrior Diet” by Ori Hofmekler

Alternate day Juice Fast – Juice Fast every other day

I recommend preparing for a Juice Fast in order to properly benefit from it and reduce the side effects that may occur.


I promote Juicing and eating healthy on a regular basis with short, occasional Juice Fasts.  A 1/2 day or 1 day Juice Fast (intermittent Fasting) offers many benefits as well.

Method 2

Drink Juice throughout the day

If you want to start Juicing and the thought of Juice Fasting seems a bit too much then don’t worry.

You can try the following equally effective approaches to Juicing:

Many experts agree that drinking Juice early in the day on an empty stomach may provide the best results, however, experiment with what works for you.  Here are some examples:

Substitute one meal per day with fruit and vegetable Juice



High Protein Meal (Egg Omelet with Fresh Spinach)

Throughout the Day-

Drink 20-40 ounces of Juice

Snack on Raw Veggies

Small Salad

Nuts and Seeds (Macademia and Almonds)

Drink Green Tea

Protein Shake

Dinner –


Eat a nutritious Dinner high in Protein

Our bodies work much harder to process Protein, burning more calories in the process and making it very difficult to store it as fat.

You can also substitute your breakfast with a Green Juice and healthy snacks throughout the morning while eating a healthy lunch and dinner.  Experiment with different routines to see what works best for you.

This is my routine as of this writing:

Drink 20-40 ounces of fresh Juice throughout the day

Snack on nuts or seeds

Small salad with a protein for lunch (i.e. tuna, grilled chicken)

Green Tea

I enjoy a high Protein, low carb dinner

You can also:

  • Drink Juice mid morning and late afternoon to bridge the gaps between meals
  • Start your day off with a healthy glass of Juice and eat a healthy lunch and dinner
  • Follow “The Warrior Diet” approach Drink Juice during the day and eat dinner only
  • Juice Fast every other day only

If you can add 20-40 ounces of Vegetable Juice to your Diet you will undoubtedly be making a major step towards improving your Health.


As you can see there are many approaches to safely and effectively add Juicing to your diet.

The most important thing is to start. Take small steps if you have to.

In my opinion, all you really need is a “go-to list” of about 10-20 fruits and veggies and you’ll be able to create dozens of Juicing Recipes quickly and easily.

Just make sure to keep at least a small handful of fresh fruits and vegetables on hand at all times.

Masticating Juicers Juice slowly which leads to less oxidation and better nutrient preservation.  This results in Healthier Juices and a Healthier you.

If you’re looking to lose weight, Juice green leafy vegetables, carrots, lower glycemic fruits such as berries as well as citrus fruits.  These fruits aren’t as high in sugar as some other alternatives.
